Due to unforeseen circumstances (aren’t they always unforeseen?) I had to get my home out of storage. The Freeway in front of the storage yard was going to be worked on at the end of this week, so if I wanted access to my home in the next two months. It had to be moved out. So now I’m storing it on my property.

Family in front of divided home

The cabinets are not what we wanted, and the outside color wasn’t what we thought either. Originally on Monday there was a mix up and we thought they brought us the wrong home. But nope, it was totally the right house, but some things are a miss. I’m not worried though, Ranse at http://allamericanmodularllc.com/ will take care of us.

Kitchen divided

What’s funny is there is a lock on the back door. And a lock on the front door. But they are not keyed the same. So I do not have access to the front half of my home until I rip down the plastic. I just peep through the tears in it to see what my house looks like, it’s kind of fun.

No permit yet

I spent 3 hours at the County on Monday. 1 hour with my planner (he graciously saw me even though I didn’t have an appointment). And 2 hours with Ravi. I was trying to get an updated impact fees from the county. But Public Works didn’t have my parcel in their system so they didn’t have an accurate cost. Also, they didn’t have the accurate costs for my neighbor when they got their permit. So hopefully they get it all figured out soon.

Septic is coming

I was out on the lot today and re-measured where my leach fields will go. I have a tailgate meeting with The Septic Engineer this coming week. After that I will break ground and write all about the process here.

Things are moving forward and much quicker than in the past. Still this permit is rough, but I’m hopeful it will all work out soon!
